Celebrating 5 years of AAVIT
Celebrating 5 years of AAVIT
As AAVIT enters its fifth year, it does so with a stronger voice, broader reach, and a growing impact on the digital agenda in Czechia and across Europe.
The past year has been defined by intensive work and continued efforts to amplify the voice of the Czech IT sector—both domestically and internationally. Our Annual General Meeting, held alongside a cluster conference on fundraising at Villa Richter, was not only a celebration of our achievements, but also a key gathering of the Czech digital community.
Bringing together representatives from public administration, European institutions, and the private sector, the event created space for discussions on digitalisation, AI regulation, and the priorities that will shape the next phase of our work.
European agenda and advocacy for our members
A central focus of the past year was the preparation of the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028-2035. AAVIT has been actively involved throughout the process – providing feedback on draft proposals, preparing position papers, and co-initiating a joint letter to the Minister for Regional Development.
These activities contributed to strengthening the role of the business sector in the negotiations. Looking ahead, our position remains clear: at least 25% of EU funding should be directed towards digitalisation and innovation.

AI, startups, and digital innovation
Supporting the development and practical deployment of artificial intelligence, alongside improving conditions for startups, remained a key pillar of our activities. We actively contributed to consultations led by the European Commission, participated in working groups and roundtables, and provided feedback on funding calls. At the same time, we contributed to policy inputs for both European and national stakeholders. AAVIT also joined the KRIS working group under CzechInvest, which focuses on strengthening the Czech startup ecosystem.

International cooperation
Our international footprint continued to expand over the past year. Jaromír Hanzal, Director of AAVIT, remains an active member of the board of DIGITALEUROPE, where he has represented the V4 region since 2024. This role provides AAVIT with direct access to key discussions, up-to-date insights, and strategic connections across both European and transatlantic digital ecosystems. Throughout the year, we engaged with partner organisations across Poland and Denmark, spoke at conferences and panels in Poland and Romania, and established new connections with IT sector representatives in Greenland.

DigiBuzz podcast
This year also marked the launch of the DigiBuzz podcast, created in collaboration with Datarun.
Hosted by Jaromír Hanzal, the podcast brings together voices from business, policy, and public administration to discuss digitalisation, innovation, and security.
Seven episodes have been recorded to date, with more to come as the platform continues to grow.
IT Fitness Test: another strong year
In 2025, AAVIT once again served as the Czech national coordinator of the IT Fitness Test – the largest digital skills assessment initiative across the V4 region. More than 63,000 pupils, students, and teachers in Czechia took part in the fourth edition. Alongside the testing itself, we expanded our supporting activities for educators, with a stronger focus on digital literacy and cybersecurity.
Together with our V4 partners, we also presented the initiative at a conference held at the Permanent Representation of Slovakia in Brussels.
