Digital V4 initiative representatives met with the participation of AAVIT

Yesterday, representatives of the Digital V4 initiative, which brings together digital associations from the region that are also members of the DIGITALEUROPE platform, met in Bratislava.

Jaromír Hanzal, director of AAVIT, Gábor Mátrai, board member of the IT Association of Hungary (IVSZ), Michal Kanownik, president of Cyfrow Polska, and Emil Fitoš, president and Mário Lelovský, first vice-president of the host ITAS, attended the meeting at the headquarters of the IT Association of Slovakia (ITAS) in Bratislava.

The topic of the meeting was the priorities of the Slovak V4 presidency, which started in July 2022, combined with the priorities of the parallel Czech EU presidency. The representatives of the associations agreed to urge the Slovak and Czech authorities to make digital topics a priority area.

“We believe that V4-based cooperation can strengthen our position within our countries and DIGITALEUROPE. We face similar challenges and problems in the field of digitalisation. Together we are stronger”, said Jaromír Hanzal at the meeting.

In addition, the progress of the IT Fitness Test 2022, which was launched in the V4 countries for the first time in history, was evaluated and further steps were identified to help increase the number of respondents.

Another topic of the meeting was the upcoming CEE Digital Summit, which will take place in Warsaw in October, and the assistance to Ukraine, which the Digital V4 member associations have also provided in cooperation with the multinational association DIGITALEUROPE.

Finally, activities that would kick-start the potential of digital transformation in the V4 and Tri-Mediterranean regions through the implementation of specific digital projects were also discussed.
